Position Overview
At Cookshop Plus, the Assistant Manager helps create an experience for our customer that delights and inspires. This position assists in executing and supporting all store initiatives that contribute to generating sales and improving the customer experience.
Job Responsibilities: (including, but not limited to)
  • Lead a team of 2-5 retail associates
  • Promote and maximize retail sales, individually and as a team leader
  • Manage stock deliveries & perform receiving/invoicing process
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Ensure customer service levels are maintained through greeting, engagement and accurate product information
  • Assist customers with product sales including culinary items and cooking classes
  • Recommend alternative purchase choices if requested product is currently out of stock
  • Utilize available resources to enhance product knowledge on a continual basis
  • Monitor sales to stock and replenish the selling floor
  • Participate in maintaining an organized and clean store including stock room and bathroom during downtime and when assigned
  • Use register and follow point-of-sale system procedures
  • Perform and supervise inventory / product display
  • Communicate effectively and professionally
  • Report directly to Owner / Manager
Job Requirements: (including, but not limited to)
  • Prior retail management experience (necessary)
  • Prior staff supervisory/management experience (necessary)
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to operate on own initiative, deal with "difficult" customers in a highly professional manner.
  • Perform store opening and closing schedule
  • Must be trustworthy and have prior key-holder roles
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Professional and friendly
  • Ability to service multiple customers, discover needs, and make recommendations to build and close sales
  • Must have a strong interest in cooking or baking
  • Must be willing to perform all retail assistant tasks as well as supervisory role.
  • Accurate with basic math and data entry skills
  • Familiarity with Retail POS systems
  • Ability to operate back end e-commerce platform
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends as business dictates
  • Able to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to climb step-ladders and be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
